The Kentville station was built in 1869 by the Windsor and Annapolis Railway. It served as divisional and corporate headquarters for the DAR as well as serving Kentville's passenger, baggage and telegraph traffic. A lunch room also operated in the west end of the station for most of its history. A 30 foot baggage room was added to the east in 1889. A major addition, designed in 1902 and completed by 1904, added a central tower, all-round platform awnings and a 40 foot extension to the west. The MLW RS-23 was a 1,000 hp (746 kW) diesel-electric locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works between August 1959 and September 1960. Production totaled 40 locomotives.The largest fleet of these locomotives was operated by Canadian Pacific Railway, which classed them DRS-10c in that company's locomotive classification system. A whistle sign used on the DAR in NS Canada. The line is now closed but the signs still stand at most crossings along the Halifax Sub. I modeled form a pic I took while mapping the former DAR line. Works in TANE. -
